Great challenges in life can also bring great blessings. Susan Dunham’s childhood was turbulent and unstable, but it taught her the values of self-preservation and self-confidence. It also taught her to break the cycle, and learn to leverage those lessons to make a better life for herself and her family. And those are just some of the characteristics which she also brings to her profession.
Susan was raised in South America as a young child, speaking mostly Spanish at the time. Her father was in the CIA, so they moved around a lot when she was younger. After completing college, she became a lead legal secretary for an international law firm in Washington D.C. It was there that she learned her contract and negotiation skills, and also where she met her husband, Rich, who was in the Navy.
Shortly after they were married, they moved to Indiana, where Susan worked as an assistant to a real estate broker. The broker became an incredible mentor, making the job both fun and fulfilling. She fell in love with real estate, and decided to get her license. Then, in 1996, they moved to Jacksonville to be with family, and she has spent the last 24 years gaining in-depth knowledge of the area beaches, boating communities and waterfront lifestyle. This unique knowledge, along with her attention to detail in guiding her clients throughout the real estate process, is how she earned the title of ‘Home Navigator’.
Today, Susan helps families and retirees navigate the home buying/selling process with education and ease so they can enjoy an active lifestyle on or near the water. When Susan isn’t helping her clients navigate the beautiful beaches and waterfront communities around Jacksonville, she leads an active and adventurous life herself. She loves zip lining, scuba diving, gardening, and dog rescue. She does home checks for dogs, provides transport services, and even fosters dogs in their home. They also have two dogs, two cats, and an African Red Belly Parrot. Her most treasured moments are spent with her husband and children (daughter, Shannon and son, Sean). Yes, challenges in life can make you or break you. And Susan chose to navigate through the rough waters and create a legacy of courage and kindness…just what her clients are looking for in their Home Navigator.
Susan has been recognized by Jacksonville Magazine as a Five Star “Best in Client Satisfaction” Award Winner 2008—2019 and is a top producer with Keller Williams Realty. Susan believes in continuing education and holds several real estate designations. Susan never rests on her accomplishments. She constantly strives to create, develop, and implement new ideas and strategies that will benefit her clients. She continues to seek out best practices in all aspects of her business to increase the level of service she offers. She maintains an up-to-date knowledge base on current trends and real estate activities in and around the entire Jacksonville area.
